Here at Cellardoor, we’ve been feeling a little bit down every time we look out of the window recently seeing the cold, wet and windy weather outside, so we decided to cheer ourselves up with some live stand up comedy.
Last Monday, on a cold night peppered with rain we were in a lovely, cosy, candle lit room in The Soul Cellar, Southampton forgetting all about the miserable weather, laughing our socks off at eight comedians.
There was something for everyone: political based comedy from Chris Munro, a song about a pirate who isn’t really a pirate from Stevie Grey and the headline act Joe Wells, winner of the Comedy Central, Funniest Student award this year had everyone in fits of laughter from the moment he walked on stage, to the moment he left. Everyone was enjoying themselves and the atmosphere was great.
It was just what we needed to feel better about the cold, dark winter nights, and as Larry Dean, the compere for the evening says: Laughter is the best medicine.
The Soul Cellar has comedy shows every other Monday the next being a gong show on the 22nd of November, so go along, have a laugh and forget about any troubles.
