- Ok, first up who is ‘She’s got a passion for fashion’?
Amongst other things I’m a Scottish girl who braves the elements with my long suffering photographer (my boyfriend, Adam) to pose in my Sunday best. Then I blog about it along side other things that I like.
- How long have you been blogging, what made you want start it in the first place?
I've been writing my blog for almost three years but only regularly since I graduated. I've always loved clothes but I was so bored with fashion magazines (thats right, I don’t read Vogue) and I hate the idea that they are simply telling you what to wear. I was instantly inspired when I started to read blog's like Liebemarlene Vintage, Style Bytes and Only Shallow (Only Liebemarlene remains in its original form). Real girls, with their own personal style and a real life budget! I think I signed up to blogspot within a week of finding them.
- What inspires your blog posts?
I studied costume so sewing and fictional characters are often mentioned, as are pretty collars, dresses, bows and stupidly high heels. Right now I’m inspired by '60s girl groups, an exhibition I just saw on Scottish Lighthouse Keepers and Edwardian children's clothing. Add in my Granny hobbies and thats my blog.
How would you describe your style?
My style is prim because I am hopeless at ‘causal’ dressing and I’m afraid of mixing colour so my outfits end up matchy-matchy. It’s more a case of deduction than anything else. I’m a creature of habit, I know what suits my body shape and what I like so I rarely deviate from it. Add in a few, if not all of the elements from the pervious answer and I’m ready to go.
- What three items can you not live without?
Only three? I would be set adrift without black liquid eyeliner, earl grey tea and my macbook.
- What do you get up to when you're not blogging?
I love making things, so I'm always baking and sewing. I'm also pretty fond of old things so I enjoy rooting around tatty antique shops, visiting museums and beautiful old houses.
- Tell us something no one else knows about you...
Well… this my sound a little weird but Cait isn't actually my name. Everyone calls me Cait but to my parents and on my birth certificate I am Drustic Elizabeth Harrington. It's a Pictish name from the 11th century (my Dad is an archaeologist) but when I was 11, I decided that I would like to be called Caitlin so I changed it.
- And lastly as we've just released our Winter issue, what's your favourite thing about this season?
Some girls love bags or shoes but I love coats so Winter is my season. This year I've been really good, I only bought three which is an improvement on last years five!
