Festival Fever

Its come round to that time of year again, getting up at 8am and waiting eagerly at your laptop for the tickets to the festivals of your choice go on sale. We fully understand that excitement you get in your stomach thats almost too much to handle. Then the feeling that yes! the ticket is yours!

Tents and music aside, something we know is equally as important is your festival wardrobe. Now is the time to wear what ever you feel like and push the boundaries of your usual summer attire. Denim short shorts, vest tops, wellington boots and brightly coloured rain macs are basic essentials along with the occasional straw hat and a bit of fancy dress.

 

We believe that festival fashion is almost as exciting as the event its self and a stand out festival chic look will have all eyes on you no matter if its pouring with rain or bright sunshine. So get your bits and pieces together everyone and get ready for your weekends of festival activities. We will see you there.

Barbour for Liberty: The perfect spring jacket?

Now that spring has well and truly sprung, here at Cellardoor we have been hunting for the perfect jacket to see us through the season. Needing to be practical but pretty, the perfect spring jacket was proving to be elusive. That is, until we came across the collaboration between two of our favourite British brands, Liberty and Barbour.

Weekend Inspiration

So the weather man told us that Spring is on it's way. We want to believe him, and judging by the gorgeous sunshine we've seen this week he may be right.

Fancy Feet

Nike have come over all girly for their third collaboration with Liberty and we've fallen head over heels, The new collection is full of vintage Liberty fabrics, including bold geometric flora Liberty's signature ditsy prints, each in an assortment of almost-edible colour ways.

The collection is exclusively available at Liberty London from April 1, then selected Office stores and other independent global retailers from May 1.

The only problem now is choosing which pair we want...

Brick by Brick

We're loving the new track from Arctic Monkeys, it's not been off the Cellardoor speakers. They're back with a new grown up rock 'n' roll sound and we like... alot! It's perfect to listen to with the sudden re-appearance of the lovely sunshine.

She's A Rainbow

Here are Cellardoor we're huge fans of the Mulleavey sisters, so we were pretty excited to hear about Rodarte's collaboration with the super quirky brand Opening Ceremony. The collection has a a really fun laidback feel to it and we're happy to see just the right amount of cute with their kitschy prints. We need a pair of those pom pom sandals in our wardrobe now!

Love Letters

We love the cheeky messages on these hilarious letterpress prints, they've definitely helped to ease that Monday feeling. See more here.

Weekend Inspiration

We love reading new recipes and salivating over images of gorgeous food, so this week we thought we'd share some of our food inspiration with you. It's enough to make our stomachs start rumbling... good job we've got a roast in the oven.

The devastating news surrounding Japan has gripped everyone, and the blogging community have got together to do their bit. Hawaiian Punch

We must admit we were not sure what to expect when we first heard about Amy Winehouse's collaboration with Fred Perry but after taking a look at the collection we were pleasantly surprised. The whole collection has cool retro fifties rockabilly feel to it and puts a feminine twist on some of their classic pieces. We're loving the red Hawaiian shirt, which even features the lady herself and those comfy suede pumps. See the rest of the collection here.

Felt biscuits

Want to make some amazing biscuits that are completely calorie free?

Then take a look at this book. Felt biscuits is a step-by-step guide on creating your very own biscuit tin of classic British biscuits.

The book teaches you everything from which stitch is which to exactly how to create one of these little treats, including patterns for Bourbons, Jam Sandwiches, Shortcakes, Custard Creams and Pink Wafers.

Heidi High

Some more inspiration for you, and this week it comes from Heidi - think a little more Heidi from the Swiss Alps than Montag. Since Alexander Wang put his models down the catwalk with long fishtail braids, the catwalk has been awash with models wearing dishevelled braids. The look is really feminine and fairly easy to achieve. We even came across this cute blog, which gave us a great tutorial.
