Monki see, Monki do

If you’re looking for a unique, fun and quirky shopping experience, then we’ve found just the thing for you. Nestled in the heart of London’s swinging Carnaby Street sits Monki - a store which is every bit as vibrant as the location in which it has made its home.

Brought to you by the parent company of H&M, the Swedish brand has steadily developed a strong online presence, and last year opened their first UK concession in the bustling hubbub of Selfridges on Oxford Street. Now, in opening their debut standalone store, Monki have cemented their commitment to British style, and in doing so have created an immersive shopping experience unlike anything else on the high street.

Upon entering the Carnaby Street branch, your senses are overwhelmed by a carnival of colour. Clothes are festooned on fairground inspired carousels, set pieces in their own fashion performance. Glittering streamers hang from the ceiling, and a selection of vibrant props line the staircase, making you feel like you’ve escaped into your own sartorial storybook. Shopping in this space is a real voyage of discovery, as you rummage from fixture to fixture in search of vibrant printed dresses, oversized cosy knits and some super-covetable tailoring.

Monki offers a real variety of stock: cute and quirky accessories sit perfectly next to a whole host of wardrobe essentials. It really is a one-stop-shop, whether you’re looking for the essence of Scandinavian style, want to pick up some basic bargains or just can’t wait to dive in to a unique shopping experience.

I visited Monki on GQ's style night out a few weeks ago and fell in love. In fact the woolly hat I seem to have attached to my head and in all of my recent photos came with love from Monki.

I think they're going to really grow in the press in the next few months - their magazine is also brilliant!
